The children emerged from the dark enclosure into the bright sunshine. Their eyes blinked rapidly in the harshness of light.
They would need their wits about them. They would be called upon to do so much. To pay the public debts of their parents. To live in a world, nay to thrive in a world which their parents had treated as a garbage dump.
To do all this and somehow get thru it all without killing each other. Knowing all the while that the 21st Century would mark an era of unmitigated brutality.
The Pastor gazed at the children and shook his head sadly. Were they up for the task? Early indicators were not encouraging.
